The FTC requires certain information to be passed on to you, the buyer, of any wedding dress. For example, you'll learn the name of the manufacturer or seller, the fabric, the country where the garment was made and any cleaning instructions. This must appear on any garment, but its particularly important on wedding dresses, considering the expense. We've include the link below for your benefit. When you are being helped at a bridal salon, be certain you are being measured by an experienced bridal seamstress. She should know the difference between a body measurement and a garment measurement. If the store selects the size for you, make sure they take responsibility for any necessary alterations. Once you sign the sales contract, you will likely be required to make a deposit of 1/3 to 1/2 the price of the dress. Keep your receipts in a safe place and write down any pertinent information, such as the manufacturer. You would be wise to pay with a credit card, in case the dress arrives damaged. This way, you'll still have some recourse. Before making your purchase final, be sure you are satisfied with your selection, with the information you've requested about the dress, and with the overall experience of the store staff. |
